Things 7-8-- Communication
I constantly e-mail other staff in my library along with our sister libraries on questions, problems, etc. However, I only check back for replies about 3-4 times throughout the day because I am busy doing other tasks. I can see where instant messaging with a librarian would be very useful. I'm not sure how our reference librarian would like it, though. She has plenty of patrons visiting her in person with questions constantly. We are familiar with Web Junction and what it has to offer, but we have yet to try it out with the staff.

Every organization need to figure out their most effective means of communication.
It is interesting to see how librarians at some reference desks are able to manage both personal and electronic requests for assistance.
Seems that college libraries have been able to make this work at the demand of their patrons.
